Re: Silver isnt a precious metal cause it tarnishes
Actually, silver is referenced 395 times in the Bible ( old and new testaments )
Gold is referenced 607 times. Dollars, or Federal Reserve Notes, aren't mentioned one time. Seems like if a person is a true Bible thumper, they would advocate using Biblical money versus today's paper crap. |
Re: Silver isnt a precious metal cause it tarnishes
He did say he was jaded on silver. He sounded as if he was upset for cashing in on the 1980 run up. If anything he should be thinking about positioning for that again even if "its just silly".

Re: Silver isnt a precious metal cause it tarnishes
So if the 'test' of a precious metal is if it trarnishes or not, then nickel must be precious in his opinion.
By the way, God says in the Bible that all the silver and gold is his. That leaves nickel and copper for us. |
Re: Silver isnt a precious metal cause it tarnishes
In centuries past, Silver was held in high regard for it's tarnish-resistance (more so than copper) and malleability (easy to pound into thin sheets) and of course its reflectivity.
Gold is even more corrosion resistant and tarnish free from natural elements making it more sought for than Silver. Copper is easily corroded and does not have the 'brilliance' or reflectivity of Silver and thus not as 'Precious' as Silver. Palladium & Platinum came later and only recently has attained such high values. Nickel is difficult to work with and is often used in 'modern' alloys. **Silver also is anti-bacterial and has been used in medicinal treatments. Silver not Precious ? - I beg to differ :mad_m: |
